We are a family-run business based in Glossop, and everything we make, from our inspired-by fragrances to our home scent range, gets the same question asked of it before it goes anywhere near a shelf: would we actually want to use this ourselves, every day, not just for special occasions? With Love Spell, the answer was an easy yes.

What Does Love Spell Actually Smell Like?

Love Spell is a soft, romantic blend built around three notes: juicy peach, cherry blossom and white jasmine. It is sweet without tipping into sickly, and floral without being old-fashioned. Peach gives it an upfront, mouth-watering brightness, cherry blossom adds a delicate powderiness, and white jasmine rounds the whole thing off with a warm, slightly heady finish.

If you already know and love fresh, fruity-floral body sprays and mists, this is the kind of scent family you will recognise immediately. We have taken a scent memory a lot of people already adore and built it into a genuinely useful, functional product rather than just another fragrance to add to the pile.

What Is a Soap Sponge, Exactly?

If you have not come across one before, a soap sponge is a solid, scented soap bar built onto (and into) a textured sponge. It is not just a novelty shape. The design does three jobs in one step:

• Cleanses, using a rich lather
• Exfoliates gently, thanks to the sponge's texture
• Moisturises, using a triple butter blend

Our Love Spell Soap Sponge is 200g and handmade in the UK using a 100% triple butter soap base, loaded with mango butter, shea butter and cocoa butter for a proper, rich lather rather than a thin, drying one. Used a couple of times a week, a single sponge lasts for up to 30 uses, which makes it a genuinely long-lasting addition to a shower shelf rather than something you will get through in a fortnight.

How to Get the Most Out of It

A little goes a long way. Wet the sponge fully before use, work it gently over damp skin in circular motions, and let it sit for a moment before rinsing so the butters have a chance to do their job. Store it somewhere it can drain and dry out between uses rather than sitting in a pool of water, and it will last noticeably longer.

The Honest Trade-Offs

We would rather tell you the truth than oversell it. A soap sponge is not going to replace your usual shower gel if you specifically want a big, foamy, liquid lather every single day, some people prefer that texture and that is completely fair. It is also worth doing a small patch test first if you have particularly sensitive or reactive skin, since it is a butter-rich formula rather than a stripped-back, fragrance-free one. And because the scent is built for a lovely everyday shower experience rather than all-day wear like a perfume, do not expect it to linger on your skin for hours the way an eau de parfum would.

What you do get is a genuinely enjoyable, multi-tasking product at a fraction of the price of the fancy layered soap bars you will find in high-street bath and body shops, made by hand rather than mass-produced on an industrial line.
