Soft Linen Room Spray: The Fresh Fabric Softener Scent That Makes Every Room Feel Freshly Laundered
Share
There is something about the smell of freshly washed laundry that makes a home feel cared for. It is clean, comforting and instantly familiar. Our Soft Linen Room Spray bottles that feeling, so you can bring it into any room in a couple of seconds, whether or not the washing machine has been on.
What does Soft Linen smell like?
Soft Linen is a timeless scent reminiscent of much-loved fabric softener, with a classic, high-quality fragrance of fresh linens. It is clean, soft and gently powdery, the kind of smell you get when you pull warm towels out of the dryer or put fresh sheets on the bed.
It is not sweet, fruity or heavy. That is exactly why it is such a crowd-pleaser. Very few people dislike the smell of clean laundry, which makes Soft Linen one of the safest scents to use in shared spaces.
Soft Linen or Comfort: what is the difference?
If you have read our blog before, you may know our Comfort scent, which also has a fresh linen feel. Both are clean, laundry-inspired fragrances, so if you love one there is a good chance you will like the other. Many customers simply have a favourite and stick with it, while others like to use one scent on the room spray and the other in a diffuser or candle. The best way to choose is to go with the one whose description sounds most like the laundry smell you love.
Why a room spray?
Reed diffusers and candles are brilliant for building a background scent. Room sprays are about speed. One or two spritzes and the room smells fresh straight away, which makes them perfect for:
- Giving a room a lift just before guests arrive
- Freshening up after cooking or a busy morning
- Bedrooms before bed, misted lightly in the air
- Hallways and coats, where smells can linger
- Bathrooms and downstairs loos
What you get
- A 150ml amber spray bottle
- A fine mist trigger for even coverage
- A high fragrance load for maximum scent throw
- An instant, long-lasting fragrance boost
- Recyclable packaging
- Vegan, cruelty free and handmade in the UK
It is priced at £9.99.
How to use it well
- Spray into the air, not directly onto surfaces. Mist into the centre of the room and let it settle.
- Start with two sprays. It has a high fragrance load, so you rarely need more for an average room.
- Hold it upright and spray at arm's length. This gives the most even mist.
- Test before spraying fabrics. If you want to freshen curtains or cushions, try a small, hidden area first and let it dry, as fragrance oils can mark some materials.
- Avoid faces, pets and food. Spray when the room is clear, and keep it away from pets' bedding and bowls.
Room spray vs plug-in: an honest comparison
Plug-in air fresheners run constantly, which some people love and others find tiring. A room spray gives you control. You choose when the room gets a lift and how much fragrance you want, and there is nothing using electricity or running when you are out. The trade-off is that a spray will not keep a room scented all day on its own. For that, pair it with a reed diffuser in the same or a complementary scent.
The honest bit
Room sprays are designed for an instant hit of fragrance, so the scent will naturally fade over a few hours, faster in rooms with open windows or lots of airflow. That is normal and is part of what makes them easy to live with. If you want all-day fragrance, a reed diffuser or a candle will do that job better. We think the best homes use both.
Make it a set
Soft Linen is also available as a candle in a tin, reed diffuser, wax melt, carpet sprinkles and fragrance oil. Carpet sprinkles are particularly good for a laundry scent, as they lift rugs and carpets that have started to smell a bit tired.
