Spring Dawn Candle In A Tin: Wild Flowers, Patchouli and White Cedar for a Fresh Start Any Time of Year
Share
Spring is a long way off, but that is exactly why we think Spring Dawn deserves some attention right now. When the mornings are dark and the garden has gone quiet, a fresh floral candle is one of the simplest ways to make your home feel lighter and more hopeful. Spring Dawn brings that first-morning-of-spring feeling indoors, whatever the calendar says.
What does Spring Dawn smell like?
Spring Dawn is a gorgeous burst of floral freshness, with notes of:
- Wild flowers, bright, fresh and uplifting.
- Patchouli, which adds an earthy richness so the scent does not feel thin.
- White cedar, a clean, gently woody base note that balances everything.
That combination is what makes Spring Dawn interesting. Plenty of floral candles are pretty but one-dimensional. Here, the patchouli and cedar give the flowers something to rest on, so the scent feels grounded and grown-up rather than sugary. It is fresh without being sharp, and floral without being fussy.
Why burn a spring scent in autumn?
We tend to reach for heavy spice and woody scents as soon as the weather turns, and those are lovely. But they can start to feel a bit much by mid-November. A fresh floral like Spring Dawn makes a brilliant contrast. It is especially good for:
- Weekend mornings when you want the house to feel bright
- Home offices where a heavy scent would be distracting
- Freshening a room after a cosy, candle-heavy evening
- Anyone who simply prefers fresh scents all year round
What you get
- A 180g candle made with high-quality fragrance oil
- A sustainable rapeseed wax blend for a clean, even burn
- Up to 35 hours of burn time
- A stylish metal tin with a lid to keep it dust-free
- Recyclable, reusable packaging
- Vegan, cruelty free and handmade in the UK
It is priced at £11.99.
How to get the best burn
- Trim the wick to around 5mm before every burn to keep the flame neat and reduce soot.
- Let the wax melt fully to the edges, especially on the first burn, to avoid tunnelling.
- Burn for no more than 3 hours at a time.
- Keep it out of draughts so the flame stays steady and the tin stays clean.
- Use a snuffer to put it out and reduce smoke.
Always burn on a stable, heat-proof surface away from anything flammable, never leave it unattended and keep it away from children and pets.
Where to burn it
- Kitchens: fresh florals cut through lingering cooking smells nicely.
- Living rooms: a lighter alternative to cosy spice candles.
- Bathrooms: clean, fresh and calming during a bath.
- Home offices: uplifting without being distracting.
The honest bit
If you love rich, sweet or smoky scents, Spring Dawn may feel a little too fresh for a cosy evening. It is designed to lift a room, not wrap it in a blanket. The patchouli also gives it a slightly earthy undertone, which most people enjoy, but if you strongly dislike patchouli in perfumes, it is worth knowing that it is there. Like all candles in a tin, the tin gets hot, so let it cool before moving it.
The full Spring Dawn range
Love the scent? Spring Dawn is also available as a reed diffuser, wax melt, room spray, carpet sprinkles and fragrance oil, plus a diffuser refill. A reed diffuser in the hallway and a candle in the living room is a lovely way to carry it through the house.
Every candle is made by hand in the UK by our family-run team in Glossop. Shop the Spring Dawn Candle In A Tin or browse our full range of candles in a tin.
